Jack Johnson is projected by many analysts to ask and recieve anywhere from 4.5-6Mill. (Major overpayment in my opinion for a guy who had a train wreck of a season) I believe this negates us ever getting him unless GMJR puts on his Wizard hat.

Panarin Discussion?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>That's why I trade brass. Pens are in the exact same position with him anyway. He's gone next year. But CBJ could resign him so he has value to CBJ. So swap the same bad situation that is a possible fix for CBJ and gives the Pens a more talented player. Move hags and find a 3C. You would start Jake, Panarin, and ZAR on the left wing. That is a very nice LW set up. With Horny, Kessel, and Sprong on the RW. You can flip rust in there somewhere if need be. If not he's on the 4th line. Either way it's a nice set up, and allows you 3-4 mil to find a 3C.</div></div>
I agree. Problem is GMJR seems to be stuck on the fact that Brassard fits better with us next year.... I'm not one to judge JR but that seems like a major dice roll. However, if we get decent value for Brassard and even can dump cap somehow im not against it. Mostly because I believe that Sheahan did MUCH better than Brassard at 3c. (I understand brassard came in late)

Panarin Discussion?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mino42</b></div><div>If the Pens make that deal then they need center help with no money to fill that spot. Pens don't need the Breadman and CBJ would never trade him to them anyway</div></div>
Yeah a lot of difficulty. I'd honestly stay away from Panarin unless penguins can negotiate some sort of deal where he has a verbal agreement to sign... A lot of risk

my two options for a kessel trade to ARI
Here's the thing about Arizona.... They have absolutely NO desire to compete. They constantly say they will remain at cap floor and invest absolutely nothing into their team. They admitted today that they can't and won't take on Kessel's contract because they want to remain at the cap floor. Seriously have no idea why they aren't forced to move or be sold. They are useless in this league and don't even try to build a good competitive team.

Penguins - WHAT IF - 2 rivals trade??
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PenGoater99</b></div><div>Panarin is younger than Kessel, he is currently worth more than him alone
The Montreal trade won't go either. Simon and Johnson are just fillers.
Sheary and Kuhnhackl aren't anything special. Arizona won't give out of their young core</div></div>
Unfortunately Panarin is not worth more than Kessel because of the fact of term. Hes a UFA next season and after having a great year with an up and coming team he still hesitates to negotiate a deal?!?.... Kessel has term and has more than enough left in him to remain a 80+ point guy. If Panarin had term id absolutely agree with you. As it stands, hes a great player but is a man looking for a pay day.

This Would Be A Crazy Draft Day Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>t4tree</b></div><div>LA is not parting with a Franchise defenseman, for a winger whos point are buffed up by the people he plays with, and an injury prone top 3 defenseman. Im thinking for you to get Doughty, it starts with Maata, and Guetzel.
Maybe Letang, Guetzel, Maata, 2019 1st for Doughty and Pearson.</div></div>
Not agreeing with the above trades, however have fun losing doughty to F/A... Guenztel far to valuable.

Rust and Jarry more than likely decline those offers. Rust will want high 2 to 3 mill. Jarry will definitely ask of 1 to 1.5

Ryan’s health and motivation is a question to me.</div></div>
yeah because retaining a 90+ point scorer down to like 3.5 mill is definitely reasonable. This isnt a charity

Pens - 2018-2019 Roster...Final Answer
You’ll get hate for this but tbh thats all Domi is worth. Massively unproven player in need of a better system. Sheary had an off year but still did alright and was nearly a ppg player year before (even though with Crosby) and Jarry can be a starter and is young enough to develop with Arizona.
A side note. Don’t know if this fixes our defence issue and also, I would throw sprong on Brassards line as Sprong struggles defensively and Brassard is best known as a defensive player. Creates a nice balance.

What it would take each team to get Karlsson( you may not like it)
Here’s the thing, every one of these are overpayments. No problem with that as he is one of the best OFD in the game. Here’s where the issue is. The longer the wait for the trade the less the value he carries. Not to mention only 1 year left. One would assume that many of the trades you would get in return would include atleast one pick as a conditional. Ottawa’s situation is NOT a good one and GMs know this.

This goes down as one of the worst Armchair GMS for the penguins ive ever seen. Sheary can get more than "Future considerations" which usually means ZIP! and Brassard and hunwick for a 3rd? Cmon man. Must be a huge Vancouver fan

The Right Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Toddyd77</b></div><div>I don't see the need for Kunitz or Maroon. Especially maroon at 4 mil. Pens are based on speed and neither of those 2 have it. Would much rather have Simon or Kuhnhackl instead of Kunitz.
Carolina wants a scoring or a center. Sheary doesn't really give them either so Have to do better for Faulk.
like the buffalo trade.
Are you Letting Oleksiak walk? I don't see him being signed or traded.</div></div>
We have enough speed with Sprong, Rust, and Guentzel. Speed isnt everything. Look at the caps. Need a fair balance of speed, shooting, playmaking and aggressiveness. This is the reason for the balance of sprong/maroon on that line. Kunitz isnt necessary I agree. But if we get him at 1M I say why not.
Oleksiak was left out ONLY because of faulk/beaulieu deals. Unfortunately, probably wont happen for both. In that case I would resign.
Carolina deal is based off of reports of rebuild. Gets a young sheary who will continue to develop. A potential #1 Goalie in Jarry and a first.
