Kamenev is pretty good and that 1st could be lottery considering Colorado could miss the playoffs this year even with crazy performances by Mackinnon and Rantanen. Schultz is fine but not worth that

LAK and OTT are rebuilding so those types of returns have their appeal to those teams, but trust me on this one, Parayko isnt getting traded, especially for a couple 2nd round picks and Chlapik. He's a cornerstone player on a good contract just hitting his prime.</div></div>
Stone came with a contract agreement though...and the only reason st. Louis isn't in full rebuild right now is because the West is so weak

It would take Brady Tkachuk. 2nds and 6ths are for the birds, you have a slim chance of those guys even becoming NHLers. Chlapik doesn't fill any sort of organizational need for the Blues. You're either extremely underrating Parayko or you're overrating the value of draft picks.</div></div>
Huge fan of Parayko, I just think picks are sooo important. And I think maybe you're slightly overestimating your return. We just gave up Stone (better than Parayko) for Brannstrom and a 2nd. Brannstrom and Tkachuk are probably at least somewhat comparable in terms of prospect status. So to me Tkachuk and a 2nd for example would be an overpayment. In reality somewhere between that and my original offer probably get it done

Stats show that multiple 2nds have the same value as firsts and that the difference between them is not that great. I'm just saying Muzzin and Parayko are comparable, and Muzzin took a late 1st and a meh prospect. This deal gives you 2 2nds, a decent prospect and two sixths. And Chlapik has played in the NHL quite a bit but has been kept down lately to help Belleville's playoff push

It might be a little off but if it is, it isnt by much. 2 2nds and 2 6ths isn't bad value when you consider what guys like Muzzin were moved for. And Chlapik may not be the best, flashiest prospect but he is NHL ready. I'd be interested to see what it would take more to get it done

The only way that Toronto trade works out is if you take Zaitsev (probably makes it still somewhat even trade and gives Toronto cap space)

I thought it was easier to just package both to Ottawa because I know their owner's a penny pincher. Also I think it'll be hard for someone to want Manning at 2.25M.</div></div>
Yeah fair enough. Personally I just don't see either team doing it. Ottawa is probably only interesting in taking huge contracts they can be compensated for taking...a good example would be Lucic!

MacArthur likely won't play again while they could still use Brodziak and Manning to reach the cap floor. They could also flip them for late round picks since both are UFA at the end of the year same as MacArthur.
Is the value not enough for the Vatanen trade? We could probably still add a forward prospect like Safin.</div></div>
Yeah value probably a tiny bit off for Vatanen but not that far off tbh. I mean for Edmonton, why would you want to take on Macarthur in exchange for guys that could be traded for draft picks?

But when Chara did it, both Marchand and Bergeron were top 20 players in the NHL. As good as Montréal is, they don't have any players like that

I think the only real hope for this team is Melnyk has to go.
Players don't want to stay here. That's on the owner and the management/coaching.
There is no real outside reason to not want to be in Ottawa.
For the record. You don't want Duclair. Everyday on fox sports ohio you would see highlights of Torts chewing him out in practice. It's why he was in and out the lineup in CBJ. It explains why he's been shipped out of so many teams. No point in letting Ottawa be another. Let that contract expire and move on. It's better than being stuck with him.</div></div>
But to your point yes taking on contracts and getting picks could be huge. Like Vegas is almost out of cap space. Taking Clarkson off their hands would be huge
