I also think that's his trade deadline value!
But, I REALLY hope the Sens keep him. Give him the contract he deserves and throw the C on his sweater.

One question: Why would Anaheim be willing to part ways with Silfverberg and taking on Stone? He still has 2 years left on a very reasonable contract and his value is only on the rise.
I know he's not the same player as Stone, but Silfverberg is IMO a better player for Anaheims future.</div></div>
Silfverberg is a UFA at the end of this year and theyd probably rather Stone 8 mill than Silfverberg 5 mill

I don't think the trade with Philly would happen because of their need to sign Provorov, Konecny, Sanheim, a goalie and (hopefully) Simmonds after this year and then Patrick after next. I think the value is good though, especially compared to other similar trades. And I think Philly is more in the market for a veteran Dman

Trying to wirk with the cap for next offseason in a three way trade
I like your thinking and the trades. I like bringing Petry in to sell him "high" to a team as Columbus for picks - as they need a righty for their defensive corps.
The only thing I'm worried about is, that having a 3rd defensive pair who's only accountable for 93 NHL games - combined.
You could split Heed/Ryan, so you've got Karlsson/Ryan, Vlasic/Heed & Burns/Dillon, to make the defense less vulnerable.

Like JT, EK is a rental. He'll go to his first choice, unless locations 2/3 offer blows him away! This is the ONLY time for UFA, he's not giving that up.

Nice of you to get the discussion going again. Hope a lot of people have some intelligent input.
Actually, I think the San Jose offer is the best Ottawa's likely to get in real life. I think all of the others, with the exception of Vancouver's, are more than the teams are willing to pay. If we limit it to the teams which are rumored to be on Karlsson's list, Tampa doesn't include Callahan and Las Vegas won't include either of those defensemen. My guess is Las Vegas will offer a first, second and third like they did for Tatar and add a player or two. (I have contemporaneous posts running for both teams which send Karlsson and Dzingel to LV for Eakin, two prospects, two firsts, a second and a fourth, but the Ottawa loons think that's two firsts too little.)

What does Ottawa have to lose? I think if they get a decent offer like this, they shop it around to a few other teams that really need a right defenseman, and to a couple of other teams that have enquired about Karlsson. They float a rumor that he's gone, somewhere, and see who calls them. Then if nothing better comes along, they move on from this endless sappy soap opera of a player who has said he might leave in free agency next summer, anyway.

Karlsson stone duchene all gone
No way Colorado agrees to that. That's a nice return for Duchene though. The Caps don't want EK with our cap being strangled and already 2 solid RHD's in JC and Nisky. Liljegren won't get moved by TOR even if you are taking Horton, and the ast trade deosn't make sense. Why does ARI need Condon? Raanta and Kuemper are both much better than Condon is. Borowiecki would be a nice addition for them, but no need for Goligoski. Better to ask for a low pick or average prospect

As i see it the Sens can not trade EK until the deadline unless the return is to big to pass up. They need as strong as a team as possible to make the odds of losing the #1 pick small

It makes sense though? He's shown chemistry with Duchene in the past, and if it let's you bump a guy like Alex Tuch to the third line, it makes the team deeper.
Also come on, that line would be nuts to watch. They'd be absolutely buzzing.

Panarin to tampa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Johnson doesnt waive his NTC, and Tampa cannot a Ford to resign panarin.</div></div>
Panarin says he wants to live by the water, and is friends with Kucherov and Vasilevskiy. If he wants to contend for a Cup in Tampa (which probably sounds appealing), he would have to take a massive discount (he would basically have to keep his current salary). If he doesn't, while it would definitely not be ideal to lose Johnson and a 1st and then lose Panarin for free (so we lose several assets for one improved season), it's not the end of the world - it more or less solves our cap problem without forcing us to give up any prospects.
Johnson probably wouldn't want to waive his NTC, but the Blue Jackets are still a good team that has made the playoffs twice in a row, came close to upsetting the Stanley Cup champions, and is on the way up. It wouldn't be <em>that</em> surprising if Yzerman could convince Tyler Johnson to waive and go there.
I highly doubt we get Panarin at all, and if we do, I'm not sure I can imagine Tyler Johnson being the one to move (it would more likely be picks + prospects only, and if the Blue Jackets don't accept, we're fine anyway). But, if the actual value of the trades are about even (which depends on how much the Blue Jackets like Tyler Johnson), this is probably a plausible scenario.

Crazy ideas rate 1-5
I agree, Edmonton is worse off now. We don't need to go all out for Nylander. We just need decent cheap wingers who can keep up with McDavid and Drai. Like the idea of adding Shattenkirk, but if we lose Larsson we still have a huge hole on the right side (Benning isn't even close to being a top 4 guy). I like the idea of adding Shattenkirk (we need a PP quarterback on the right side). I think a first and a B prospect might be enough for him. Although not sure if we could make the cap work...

k bud, benning may be on the fence about getting karlsson or whatever ur saying but it’s aquilini who is pushing benning to sign veterans( beagle, roussel, schaller). Aquilini wants the canucks to be competitive soon for many reasons, possibly or most likely why linden stepped down as president. So it’s possible for the canucks to acquire EK. And they have more pieces that Ottawa wants than the SJ sharks????

Seriously, it's nice to see a realistic trade for Karlsson for a change. But he's right-handed -- is that going to mesh with your team?
I had Demelo on all of my AGM teams at between $1.25M to $1.333 to even $1.5 until you guys got to keep him. I can't believe Toronto and Edmonton, in particular, didn't make stronger efforts for him.

Every karlsson trade i think can happen
That Dallas trade won't happen. They aren't going to part with Miro, and even if they did they aren't going to give up one of their two productive Centers (Seguin being the other). Only way Karlsson gets dealt to Dallas is if a package including Honka + a 1st (and more) is what's going back.

First Demelo, now Chiasson . . . why is it guys I love on AGM (and want to pay $1.25M or more for my Toronto or Las Vegas teams) get so little in real life?
Nice to see a trade for Pacioretty that accurately reflects (in my opinion) the current, and proper, market for guys on the last year of their contracts who haven't expressed a desire to stay with their teams for life.
