Description

Trying to do a few things here:
1 - Get better linemates for Horvat
2 - Improve the 3rd D pairing
3 - Clear out bad contracts that run beyond 2021, when Pettersson and Hughes will be re-signed
4 - Stockpile picks so we have cheap talent coming in 2021 when the core of this team is pricey.
5 - Add veteran depth on short-term deals so we can contend for the playoffs next season

I think we draft Kaliyev this year to help out Horvat in the future. Maybe not. I doubt Stone moves out of Ottawa. Guddy has negative value. He had an awful contract and is too slow for the NHL. He won’t cost too much to dump, especially if we take back a serviceable overpayed player in return.

No way you get that much for Sutter and Gub. CBJ one is iffy, first two are solid, might be able to get more from WPG

No way is Edler worth a 1st round pick? And if Callahan is dealt from Tampa it will be at the NHL draft not the 2019 TDL. They will want him for the cup run.
