Description
EDM, CAR, ANA trades all happen at draft.

This sets the Devils up on the ice and for the future. They drastically improve on the wings and on defense. Secondary scoring should be no issue and the defense should allow Blackwood to shine. The center depth could be suspect. Either Mcleod and Boqvist absolutely run away with their new roles, or we struggle and make a trade for some center depth at some point next year. This also keeps the Devils right above the cap floor, which would allow them to offer every upcoming RFA and UFA enough money to keep them here for the better parts of their respective careers, if Shero wanted to. I could see this team playing playoff hockey for years to come.

Anaheim trade is terrible. Definitely wouldn’t trade Lindholm for that and I’m not even sure I’d trade Kase for that, let alone both of them. This is terrible.

Rather than being a twat and saying something is terrible, start a conversation and give me your opinion on what you'd want for that trade to happen.

-Like the wash move (for reasons I've mentioned elsewhere)
-The Sharks move would be good if Andy accepts (some say sure, I'm skeptical)
-If Z would waive it would work, I think a deal with Winny is a better chance
-If we move Zacha to Car, I'd prefer to pkg him for Hamilton or lesser Faulk, use some of the Pionk assets for that (I would not do the NYRs trade) . I'd try and keep Talvitie if possible
-Lindholm is a nice piece and Kase is kind of p/u we need but Wood and Coleman are our glue guys, everything else is fine. I'd find a way to not move these guys. Maybe Fowler for less assets? I'd really like a big good skating D man like Nurse-ish
Overall some nice moves. Hopefully Ray uses the cap to take on expiring contracts move out some FAs if it works and makes the moves he needs to.

I thought about doing Zacha, Santini, and Speers with a couple 3rds for Hamilton, or drop Speers and a pick for Faulk, but I like the cap space we could get with pionk and we only need him for a 3rd pairing. I prefer to keep Vatanen, rather then let him go and if we bring in Hamilton, we can't keep Vatanen next year. I love Wood and Pickle and maybe we could keep one or the other from that trade, but who knows. I agree with you and I hope that Ray uses this cap space for now and the future.

I also think that Wood is the fastest straight line skater in the league and it would suck to lose that speed.
