Leafs don't Russel and future cap hit and his play in future years. Gudas just adds more cap for the Leafs next year without really improving the team.

Your construction projects $13.5M in space under an $83M cap after trading Zaitsev and Hainsey retires (plus other adjustments, like Moore's and Nylander's pay cuts). Matthews' raise is $10.6M. Most of the remainder would be taken up by Johnsson's or Kapanen's raise, so how do you propose to re-sign the other youngster plus Mitch Marner?
