Description
Main idea is to create the cap room to keep the top 2-3 lines intact, while bringing in young defenceman to add to Liljegren and Sandin with the hopes that 2020-21 will feature a top 4 of Rielly and Dermott on the Left, Fox and Zaitsev on the right...and Liljegren, Sandin and Timmins battling to take ice time from Rosen/Borgman.

Timmins has been out since last OHL playoffs with a concussion so he comes with a lot of question marks...but he would have been part of the last draft class Dubas made with the Greyhounds and has a high ceiling as a 2-way dman if he regains his health.

Fox is another question mark...but moreso if Carolina can get him signed or not. Leafs would be able to offer him a chance to fit into their top 4 immediately.

Essentially you would have Rielly, Dermott, Fox, Liljegren, Sandin and Timmins as a potential future blueline

Doesn't seem like nearly enough for Kadri considering what Hayes went for at the deadline as a rental.

I had Dermott up on top line RHD with Rielly at first...but kind of irrelevant. Kyle's job is to bring the talent in, Babcock sets the lines as he sees fit. I did this to keep the LH/RH balance but could really care less if it's Rosen over Holl if he beats him out in training camp

Could entirely be true. I didn't want to push it on a return from Colorado and then get blasted for undervaluing Timmins.

I don't keep up with prospects anymore but given his draft position, you're getting the same return you're giving up for Fox.
