Description
I know this looks like a jumbled mess but let me explain this:

the left column = The untouchables, or the core pieces I expect the leafs to hold on to and build around for years to come. + Andersen

Middle Column = Pieces who aren't necessarily untouchable, rather pieces you compliment the core guys with. These are the guys I dont see being career leafs.

Right Column = Guys who i expect to be gone either this year, or the next. For either cap reasons, or just simply not being a fit with the leafs anymore.

Bottom left column (left defense) = Marlies players ranked from top to bottom, who are most likely to come in and crack the leafs lineup next year.

I essentially wanted to make this as leaf nation is currently freaking out, while I believe its important to remember many teams go through numerous roster changes before making a cup run. I truly believe the leafs are still in the earlier years of that window and many of the players on the roster rn, wont be there if they actually win the cup.

Its cool that some fanbases are doing this stuff
Nice board the only thing that i could see going wrong is nylander i would put him in the middle colum instead as if someone like edmonton or st.louis offers a good young d-man like klefbom or parayko i could see dubas trading him.
Nice team anyways

Thank you! I do agree with that, i debated on having him in the middle column or not. Honestly though i think the trade buzz around him is created by the fans + media. Im just going off Leafs GM Dubas' comments and personality where i believe he sees Willy as a core piece and would look to trade a guy like Johnsson/Kapanen over him if he had too. I also think Dubas is higher on the marlies depth than most,(with Sandin, Liljegren being great prospects) this is why i dont see a trade for a big name d man like a Parayko but hockey is unpredictable sometimes !

This is one of the best Leafs AGMs that I've come across. And I think your description perfectly sums up where the leafs are right now. We're in good shape.

Like your take on how Dubas sees Willy as a core piece. Everything he's shared publicly on Nylander points to Dubas seeing him as a long term leaf - and likely riding shotgun to AM while Marner does the same with JT. Throw in the emergence of Rielly as a legit Norris contender and Freddy continuing to be steady, and that's a core that will compete for the cup at some point. Leaf Nation will continue to be angsty.. but, we really are in good shape..

Like your listing with the Marlies depth, and how Dubas values those guys and the development process. Couldn't agree more. I'd only add that Mason Marchment should maybe get a nod there too. He has some tools that the leafs lack. I could see him getting a look next year if he can stay healthy and continue to build on his last 2 seasons.

All in all, awesome stuff! And very timely, too.

Thank you very much! We really are lol, even if we dont do anything in the playoffs this year, it'll take some time before the entire roster is filled out and Dubas makes his mark on this team. Really feel like we're headed in the right direction! And yeah lots of great marlies who could get a look ! Marchment always flies under the radar for me aha, so nice to finally have many great AHL players who actually can come in and compete for a spot rather than having a bunch of Tyler Biggs down there

You're quite welcomed, my man. I think you hit the pulse with how and why leaf nation needs to chill. We'll get there with this core. And I think holds with Dubas., too. I really think the guy has a compelling aproach.

That shared, I'm not entirely sure if Babcock is part of the core that gets us there. He might be. Or he might be one of the guys in the middle column of your line up. Either way, we really are in good shape. Well done!
