Description
This team isn't miles better but it gives them the ability to field a couple of competitive lines in the coming years with both Mojo and Zucker locked down for the next 4 years. Sekera, Larsson, and Russell all come off the books in 2 years and although they might be slightly overpaid, they're still serviceable enough to play top 4 minutes until their contracts are up (plus Edmonton has very little coming up that excites me in terms of D prospects outside of Bouchard). These are just my thoughts, I'm not a fan of the Oilers, just trying it for fun.

1. Brodziak is still useful but Oilers have no need for him. Send him into the sun for anything.

2. Minnesota Trade: I like RNH as a player and I think he still has some good years ahead of him but I don't think him playing on the 3rd line in Edmonton is much of a help to the team. Let Gagner play the 3rd line center position and take o-zone draws only/pp draws that could potentially rejuvenate him. Zucker provides some much needed scoring to play alongside McDavid or Draisaitl.

3. Not sure how Montreal feels about Lehkonen anymore, he's come into the league and put up between 21-29 points every year, although he's been given less minutes sometimes and not always playing with the best players the team has to offer. Gives PoolParty a restart that he asked for and attaching Benning won't necessarily make his value deteriorate but it's a nice way to get out from under his contract.

4. For the Johansson signing, you might have to slightly over pay him to get him on a shorter deal as I'd imagine he's looking for something in the 6 or 7 year range but he hasn't really produced very well in the past couple of years so he might come a little cheaper then expected.

Nuge > Zucker all day. Also Nuge doesn't play 3rd line, he plays 2nd Line C which is why the Oilers are able to play Leon and McDavid. Draisaitl and McDavid is 1 line we got. The Oilers need to find another guy to pair with Nuge to form that second line, that's what the Oilers are missing.

Gagner's been playing wing and he should stay there, he's a defensive liability at centre, playing wing helps hide that.

Nuge was also playing LW with McDavid. If youre going to trade him, thats youre best opportunity to get 3 or 4 pieces back, you shouldnt waste it on a 1 for 1 for a worse player
