This is probably their best option and extremely realistic that it happens. But giving Point a 4 year deal is terrible. It walks him right into his first year of UFA. He'd probably sign at that amount for closer to 6 or 7 years since the taxes are lower in Florida. & this way Tampa saves their younger assets and picks to not move Callahan.

Well done though.

You could. Though I feel like Point would take a 6 or 7 year deal right at $8.75M. That keeps him longer term at the same cap hit.

The real problem starts in the summer of 2020. Most likely 2 of Johnson, Miller, Palat, Killorn, Gourde, or McDonagh will have to go to create cap room for Vasilevskiy and Sergachev. I can see Sergachev getting a bridge deal around Vasilevskiy's similar $3.5M cap hit, but Vasi himself will be at least $8-$9M so it's a $4.5-$5.5M raise just on him. I can see Miller being an attractable piece to move. He might be the most likely and for little return since they'll have to protect whoever they get back in the expansion draft

Most tampa residents don’t have the accent, that’s more northern FL
