Description

1.) I figured by taking on Marleau's contract with Kapanen, it'll give Toronto enough cap space to sign Marner which would give them more incentive to make the trade.
2.) The Trouba trade is probably a pipe dream, but Shero has shocked us before. And hey, Trouba is good but not Erik Karlsson good, so I'm not giving up the farm.
3.) Even after all the moves, the contracts of Marleau and Greene will come off the books after the year, which will leave enough space to sign Hall and Nico. Plus you can also buyout Schneider or hope he gets taken in the expansion draft.

Marleau can’t be moved unless he waives hid NMC which he won’t do.

He might but Kapanen is not price for moving him thats for sure..

The best they could do is take part of Marleau’s contract and i don’t even know if the nhl will allow that anymore.

I get what you're saying. I guess my thinking was that ultimately, Toronto can't sign everyone under the cap, so if they want to keep Marner they might have to sacrifice some younger players to do it.

In the same thought as Marleau, the Devils could easily take on the last year of Kulkov's contract to give WPG more space to resign Laine and Connor.
