If there was a danger that Kap was going to get an offer sheet, Dubas would trade him before that happened. And it would be for more than a 2nd round pick.

Thats why I like it here. you get responses from other fanbases rather than just insulating yourself in your own subreddit ect. I wouldn't be too heart broken over severson TBH, but I don't know how well that would work out.

Also, Jets cant afford to let him get to arb right? whatever the price is for his negotiating rights, I think the devils would make good bedfellows. One of the few teams that can let him go to arb or even give him a blank check to avoid it.

only time will tell. I think he would be looked at as a magician if he gets out of this summer fairly unscathed. Somebody is gonna have to get traded. you have a point though...on top of the fact that he would need to sign the sheet as well. The thing is, $4mm is probably overpayment at this juncture so it would be fairly enticing.

Oh I think its a lock that 2 guys get traded and possibly 3. Brown is almost a sure thing to be traded. And in my opinion moving Kapanen is the smart move to find cap relief and also not downgrade. I think he could be moved for a guy on an ELC that is comparable but has potential to be a power forward.
