Why would Florida give up ANY assets to get the rights to them, when it's the worst kept secret in the league that they're going there July 1?

So they can sign 8 year contracts. If they wait it can be a max 7 year contract.

The first one I actually like, other then the fact that Murray, Wennberg, Milano and maybe Carlsson will get moved for picks in 2020 and/or 2021.

Just further proving my point. In today's NHL, you don't sign a guy that is already 30 and another one who will be 28 in a couple months to 8 year deals if your can avoid it... Florida would be FAR better served getting them on shorter deals...
