I already went through the spiel... then I read Twitter. I would imagine if they were negotiating a trade that Marleau probably at least verbally agreed to waive to go to the kings.

Or that he was somewhat open to it. I’m as shocked as any, but I still think as of now it’s a no. There’s a piece to the puzzle that doesn’t make sense. My guess would be that the kings would be eating salary and flipping him to a good team. My moneys on Colorado. I could see them valuing Marleau

Yup, it was reported that it was McClellan that might be the reason but that makes no sense to me at all.

I can kind of get it now. Marleau goes to the kings, either along with a legit asset, or with Toronto taking back a contract that has a lesser cap hit, but with longer term. The kings flip Marleau to Colorado (who, objectively speaking, give Marleau a better shot at the cup) at half salary.
