Would you make this deal if the 2nd overall pick turns out to be kappo? NYR get to jump-start the rebuild a year quicker with Marner, and the Leafs get to restock the cupboard with an equal talent in Kappo without the cap hit, and adds a right hand defensemen in the progress too. Does NYR really want to add that kind of salary at this point, but it also allows them to build around what is already set in stone. The leafs may need to add a bit more in order to pry Pinok away from NYR, but on the surface it looks like a win for both sides.

If the Leafs were to explore a trade for Marner this would allow Dubas to go big game hunting. What do you think it would take to pry Dumba away for the wild if the Greenway for Kapanen trade were expanded on?

Who would you choose between Bean and Fleury?

I don't think Carolina trades away their defensemen after a good playoff run, so if you are looking to move on from Kardi because of his mindless acts during the play-offs you may have to take a deal like this imo.
