every team says no to the trades, panarin doesnt want to play in a smaller market team, highly doubt marner would want to go to a team that is in a worst place than the leafs.

no cap space. leafs can come back and offersheet pettersson. huge win for the leafs, they move up in the draft and get the far better player.

Pettersson would most likely get his extension after next season so that would eliminate that problem.
