It’s not bad but I just don’t see Gudbranson fetching that big of a return, though he was playing solid at the end of the season.

Yeah I'm not really sure what his value is. He played pretty well for the Pens, but not really anywhere else. But Dallas could use a RHD I'm pretty sure and I've been told Honka isn't really fitting their system, so I don't know. I'm just wingin' it over here.

I think it's in the Penguins best interest to stick with Gudbranson. He was a highly touted draft pick, played for some ****ty teams, and has really showed nothing but success since joining the Penguins. Think about the trade value Schultz has now versus what he cost us to get him. Next year Gudbranson could be in a similar situation if our defensive coaching continues to improve his overall game.

What is your opinion on Jack Johnson?

It's possible. You could potentially just ignore that trade and then sign someone like Jordie Benn for a little cheaper instead of Edler and that would leave say 2.5Mish in cap space to sign a decent bottom 6 player in this scenario. Or maybe forego the PoolParty trade and use Jarry to try to get Hayden Fleury since he's potentially available and slot him in there and save a little more money. There'd be some options.
