Description
Provorov only get a 1 year deal to show he's the real deal on a deeper more balanced team if reports of an $8m asking price are true. Flyers can't stump that up much (literally considering the cap) on a guy who hasn't actually been outstanding yet bar that several month spell with Ghost in 17-18.

Talbot could be Elliott or McElhinney, whoever is cheapest so maybe you could save a small amount of cap there.

I really don't like that 3rd line. Move Lindblom up, trade Ghost for a Shaw and MTL 1st.
Lindblom-Patrick-Shaw
Raffl-Laughton-Hartman

That should be the bottom 6

Opps, Lindblom should be on the 3rd line - forgot to move him.

It's just hard for me to trade Ghost for a 3rd line player, even with the first. He's a really good player who had a down year on a really good contract. I think he'll bounce back big to being a 45-55 point D on a better alround team. That would make his production to cap hit a huge competative advantage. I just don't think you win a trade like that.

I just I feel like too much money is on the backend right now and Ghost playing on the 3rd pairing is a waste and all it will do is bring his value down.

I think the 3rd pair thing is misleading though. He'll still play 4 mins most nights on the PP, plus he'll pick up shifts in the top 4 in offensive situations. If he plays well he could quickly be back in the top 4 too.

It is too much money on the back end but that's on Braun and Niskanen (well it's on Fletcher obviously). Braun is a UFA after the season so I feel you've just got to make it work this year. If Ghost is just reasonable this time next year move him then - his contract will still make him an asset to someone unless he just can't play anymore. But it's low risk, high reward to keep him.
