I'd do 3 x $7.5 - as long as he's still RFA after 3 years.

You are still talking about "only" $3M for him to go play behind Rantanen when he would be 1st line on a SJ team that went to the CF last year. The potential to make more after this contract would mean he still stays in SJ. You would have to overpay to get him to leave

Depends if they can somehow keep Pavs.

No Pavs, then probably worse. Yes Pavs (and Meier obvs) then definately better.
