Sharks fan here and I find that trade to be terrible. We would need Petry and want NOTHING to do with Alzner. But Doug won't be trading Vlasic any time soon.

7 years x 7 M at 32, dude that is one heavy contract + Sharks need to fill some gaps up front. This trade gives you cap space for a quality F or two, or to re-sign 2 old farts.

Vlasic still has a few quality years ahead. SJS has some pretty strong prospects coming up to forward this season in Sasha Chmelevski and Ivan Chekhovich. Where's the "quality" forward in this trade? Peca? come on...that is NOT quality.
