Description

Colorado has the cap space to take Namestnikov for a year and he gives them a bit more depth scoring for only a 3rd. I think this deal makes sense for both teams. I decided not to trade Kreider, but only because i believe the Rangers are a playoff team. Maybe as a deadline deal if they are out of the playoffs. But this is my opening night roster.

A) If you are signing Lemieux to a 1 year deal, it'd be a Qualifying Offer that would be around 894k, so you can save around 100k on the cap.
B) I think Deangelo can go for less (probably 2 years at 2.5 AAV) (Pionk probably received 3 million because of Canadian taxes, so 2.5 is probably fair for Deangelo).
C) I think if a team wanted to sacrifice assets for Namestnikov, rather than waiting a year to sign him, they would have done so by now, and NYR may not have needed to buy out Shattenkirk. I think you're going to have to trade Krieder sooner rather than later, as the other players on the block are not garnering enough interest.

Oh, and I do think Kreider should be traded because NYR are not a playoff team yet. Still need the youth to develop their game and the blueline is still not where it needs to be. They'll be close, but I do not think they will get in.
