Description
First 3 years:

Marner: 224pts 241gp = .90ppg
Kuch : 149pts 211gp = .70ppg

Both wingers, Marner has outproduced him by a decent margin to begin their careers. 2016 Kuch signs for 6.53% of the cap @ 4.76M for 3yrs.

Marner, being more productive should automatically get slightly more. Take into consideration that the cap has gone up and players are making/asking for more and more as well.

$5,321,950 is 6.53% of cap right now. But, I'll add 25% onto that for a total of $6,652,437.5 for 3 years as a "realistic" bridge.

I think most of us were a bit surprised by the kuch deal when it happened and we gave yzerman all the credit for bringing him in at a low number. Marner unfortunately has seen nylander Mathews and Tavares get paid and wants his. Cant blame the guy and I get the logic in your offer but I cant see him signing for a number thats lower than nylanders.

Marner’s camp has been pretty consistent on wanting 5 yrs $11-$12 million per year. I don’t see them changing their mind. Either pay him or trade him because no one is going to offer sheet him.

Okay but 11-12M per year isn't what he's worth or should get and I'm not here to argue that.
Just going off the Kuch deal which I think is a pretty fair comparable

I don't see him signing for any less than Nylander either but basing it off Kuch % cap hit and "inflation" if you'd like to call it that, realistically if he wants 3yr deal it should be close to the number I have above IMO, paying anything 7+ on a bridge isn't a bridge

I agree if its a bridge it should be less. The problem is guys are getting paid. Hes an elite talent he knows it and he wants the cash. so if your a say hes about a 10 million dollar guy taking less on a bridge deal is more like 2 years 8 million which isn't much of a bridge I know. The only help Toronto can get in all this is if somehow braiden point signs first and its lower than we all think it would be.
