Description
Little stat I found:
Over the past two years Sergachev has averaged 1.28 points per 60 minutes of 5-on-5 play, a number that places him 10th among ALL defenders in the NHL, and tops among all defenders on the Lightning (yes, even ahead of Hedman and McDonagh).

Even more impressive is that he has averaged 0.60 primary assists per 60 minutes, a mark that has trailed only the San Jose Sharks Norris duo of Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns.

...and he is twenty fooken one years old.

He can improve defensively (and he will, he's already improved a lot this season), but he really could become a great great offensive Dman if given the right space.
This season will probably be his true breakout year. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

McDonagh has been one of the main reasons why Tampa's defense has improved so much.
Hedman, McDonagh and Sergachev can all coexist in the top 4, mostly because Sergachev likes to play on the right (and he's more effective there) and Hedman-Sergachev can be a really good top pair

Id be fine with that but then what happens when foote becomes good and mcdonagh still has about 3-4 years left at 6.75 on the 3rd pair

When McDonagh will start declining he'll be relegated in a more "defense only" approach.
And we'll have:
Hedman-Cernak
Sergachev-Foote
McDonagh- ...

Based on my calculations, McDonagh will be a bad contract from year 5 to 7. Manageable
