If Spurgeon and Pysyk are good NHL Dmen they are going to sign for more than that as UFAs. But your lineup is pretty good, just think that 7m will be spend on two other Dmen.

Spurgeon is much better defensively than gardiner (who has back issues which likely factored into negotiations). He left money on the table to play somewhere quiet. Minnesota will have no problem paying Spurgeon 7 x 7.5.
