As soon as Matthews signed I pretty much came to terms with his aav being over 10 on a 6 year deal.

well ya, who in their right mind would thing he would get less then 10? but heaven forbid you said on here before 09-13 that he would/should getting over 10.5....people on here, Mostly Leaf fans, would call you out for being an idiot and so forth.

Oh it’s an overpay, shouldn’t be making more than 9.5m on that term. Soon as I heard he wanted 11.5m x 5 I knew it would be at least 10 x 6, the last month or so I figured they would land at 10.5 x 6. I’m a through and through leafs fan but you have to be realistic. Most leaf fans couldn’t believe a home town kid would do that. Lot of people gloating to leafs fans that he was going to get 10 x 3, 11.5 x 5, 12 x 6... or offersheeted for 13m. So it was certainly going both ways.
