But why? Larsson is literally not better than Ceci? He hits more but thats really all he does. Adam Larsson has, for his entire career, been bad possession wise and doesn't offer any offence. Before any Oiler fan jumps on here saying he's a terrific shutdown defenceman, no he isn't. Edmonton has been defensively one of the worst teams in hockey for the past 2 years and 3 years ago when they made the playoffs it was due entirely to Talbot standing on his head for an entire season. Larsson sucks.

They have Bouchard coming (probably next year), Bear becoming an NHLer this year, and Benning for third pair, so their right side is fine. They desperately need offense and Bracco would already be in any other team's top 9 if we wasn't in the Leafs organization - he'd be in Edmonton's top 6 in no time. And two 2nds and a 3rd is awesome for a team starving for young talent. Plus, Larsson most likely won't re-sign when his deal is up. I think EDM definitely accepts.

So then they'll get a better package for him. At least better than an ahl player and pylon for a dman. Edmonton should be in a position that the picks don't matter.
