Description
Minnesota Trade:

Leafs get the big, right handed defenseman who is still in his prime and signed for 4 more years. While important to Minnesota, they realize they can't compete in the central as they are currently structured and opt for a big haul to kick start a retool of sorts. Minnesota gets a speedy winger with upside, if he can get his puck control skills together, could be a 60pt player. They also get Ceci, either to play on a tanking team, or flip for more assets. Than they get a former 1st round pick in Liljegren, who is only 20, and 2 2nd round picks. The 2021 draft pick is conditional, in that if the Leafs win the Cup in either the next 2 years, it becomes a 1st.

New York Trade:

Leafs get a young backup who could play 30 games this year. NYR move on once their prospect Shesterkin is ready to join Lundqvist in the NHL. Rangers get NY native, and top prospect in Bracco, a replacement AHL goalie, and a 3rd round pick. Leafs could make Georgiev the Andersen replacement in a couple years if they feel he is ready.

You can't trade your scraps to get a guy like Dumba, future norris caliber top 2 rhd. If you a receiving value you need to be giving up value. It would take something far more significant either as a 1 for 1 or a larger package that starts with Nylander and Sandin.

I'm a Leafs fan but let me ask you a simple question:

Who is the most valuable player currently on Minnesota?

The above is not enough but a package starting with Nylander and Sandin is too much

This. Quality not quantity for a player like him.
