Description
In a trading Hall and rebuilding/retooling scenario. Montreal's big need right now is an elite shooter, as the team has consistently outchanced its opponents without getting the results we'd expect through last year and into this year. Devils get a good return for a guy with a career high in points of 57, Montreal adds an elite shooter with good PP impacts. We pray he waives the NTC in order to leave the sinking ship.

Maybe, but a) he's committed to Wisconsin for this year, and b) it's unclear how much he'll provide immediately. Given some of the struggles Hughes and Kakko have had so far this year, I'd be bearish on expecting him to be an impact player in the next 2 years. This helps the team contend within that frame before Weber/Petry fall off and the blueline rapidly starts to become an issue.

I think Caufield will have the same impact DeBrincat had with the Hawks

I still don't think MTL is ready to be trading away first round picks yet. if a good deal comes along they probably trade off one of their second rounders, maybe a prospect with it but that's about it. I do like Palmiere though
