Description

Purely looking at how the Avs could all but guarantee a cup this year. Obviously Getzlaf probably prevents them from being able to re-sign Hall, but if Hall is willing to re-sign there are certainly pieces they can let go of.

This roster now has no weaknesses, and as long as Grubauer can give them average goaltending they should have no problem winning it all.

I like the idea of getting Getzlaf. Don't know if the Ducks will part ways with him, but it's out of the box and it helps the team.

RD is our biggest organizational need, we aren't trading our only top 4 quality one with out getting back a top quality RD prospect +

Also don't see Getz getting moved

That would definitely be of more interest to the Ducks.

It all depends on what GM Murray decides to do, we have cap space and if we could add a top 4 RD and a top line forward this offseason the ducks could compete with steps forward from guys like Steel, Comtois, Jones, and Lundestrom among others. Depending how the lottery plays out we could add a Lafreniere or Byfield to the mix as well (Wishful thinking to be fair)

In a scenario where we continue to retool/reshape that deal would definitely be considered but it would be hard to part with Manson but the Avs are one of the teams that could get it done

Fair enough, I do think the Ducks can contend in 1-2 years and Manson would be a big part of that. I guess the trade would work better if it were just for Getzlaf - with Johnson and Makar the Avs don't really need Manson anyway.
