Krug will get at least 7.5 million and it'll take more than a third rounder to move that Backes contract

Krug has said he will take a discount, and since signing Bergeron's deal Boston has never signed someone to a bigger deal then his. That's not a coincidence and Krug won't be taking a penney more the Bergeron, and it will take more then a third, hence why Khulman is in the deal.

Says who? Leaf fans? Lol.

Steve Mason was a swiss cheese goalie with a 4.1m cap hit, was dumped with Armia, a 4th and 7th for a career minor leaguer.

Backes/Moore/3rd for Michael Carcone. Sens get some help staying above the cap floor get a pick and usable d man for nothing.

Not trading Heinen to sign Kassian, there is 4 million in cap space there if they wanted to keep Heinen. But he is expiring after the season, and doesn't play to his full potential on the right side, Boston has cheaper options for 3RW, and IMO he would be their 4th LW behind Marchand-Debrusk and Bjork.
