Description
As per the Taylor Hall trade, elite prospects and high picks will be at a premium this trade deadline for rentals. The market for controllable RFAs has not been set yet but I don't see teams giving up too many picks with such a deep draft so the Rangers might have to throw in some additional assets to get deals done.

The last few trade deadlines, since the Rangers needed help everywhere while rebuilding, they traded each player to the highest bidder to acquire as many assets as they could but now the focus is changing. They must use positions of strength such as defensive prospect depth to target specific needs like LW and C. It'll be interesting to see what Gorts does but these are a few ideas that I think help both teams:
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Lavoie, Raphael [Reserve List]
  2. Puljujärvi, Jesse [Reserve List]
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
- Conditional 2nd becomes a 1st in 2021 if Kreider re-signs
- Oilers get a power forward that can help them with a playoff push and perhaps beyond if they re-sign
- Oilers also get a puck moving, high scoring defenseman that can help their offense and is controllable with RFA rights
EDM
  1. Deangelo, Anthony
  2. Kreider, Chris ($2,300,000 retained)
  3. 2021 4th round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
- Rangers get a solid center prospect that they currently lack
- Rangers get a reclamation project that can be a low risk high reward player if they can develop him
2.
NYR
  1. Chmelevski, Alexander
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
- Sharks get a solid goalie they desperately need and a bottom 4 D prospect with some upside
SJS
  1. Georgiev, Alexandar
  2. Rykov, Yegor
Additional Details:
- Rangers get a highly skilled center prospect with some size that is an upgrade over the current depth chart
3.
NYR
  1. Puistola, Patrik [Reserve List]
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
- Hurricanes add a 3rd line center that can create additional offense for them to make a deep playoff run
CAR
  1. Strome, Ryan ($1,500,000 retained)
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
- Rangers add a LW prospect they need badly
- Swap of 3rd/2nd picks is to make up for any disparity in value

Oilers decline, we are not giving up Lavoie for a rental, he is our number 1 offensive prospect and we dont have many good ones. All the pros say we got the steal of the draft. We already will be to full cap next year with all our signings and the youngsters are the only way to control that. You just seen Oilers and Holland saying we will not give up our good prospects for rental, if not look on tsn
