Murray wouldnt move the needle. Theyre not giving up on Mitts so the trade would have to blow them away

Too much. He's just not that good at this point. Probably still going to be a decent player but the actual value to another team is probably less than what it would cost to get him. He was the first pick for the GM in Buffalo. Giving up on him now looks very bad for them (even though they should really ignore the sunk cost here).

And even if they were looking to trade him, a more likely scenario would be like the Nylander trade where they swapped young players with another team. Murray is about to be expensive and doesn't fit that.
