So here's the thinking....

Both the Jets and VGK are playing to win now. Neither team is looking for prospects or draft picks. So this just seems like a sensible hockey deal, doesn't it?

I LOVE Paul. Pure class, pure character, great in the dressing room, leader on and off the ice, does whatever he's asked, never makes negative headlines.....a real team guy. But we have too many centers. And we could always use D help.

Winnipeg on the other hand gets a 2C. Not sure if there is a rift forming with Buff and the Jets, but if there is there's no need putting him back in the Jets dressing room when healthy.

They are the same age, on the same term, and pretty close on the salary hit. The Jets get Paul's services immediately without losing anyone from their roster, VGK has to wait a month or so but we have the center depth to fill in. And Paul already knows the Jets organization so he may waive his NMC to go there.

Not that far fetched if you think about it.

I think if buff plays this year is benefits them to keep him rather trade him for a 2C when little or wheeler can play in that spot and when the jets might have the worst d core in the league

Good thought actually, but don’t know if this happens because:

1. Both have NtC and will either waive? I know Stastny waived before for Winnipeg but that was as a pending UFA. Not with a full season left.

2. Vegas can’t afford Buff, especially since you slid Eakin to LTIR, but he practiced in full today.
