Description

As a habs fan, it breaks my heart to think about moving on from Price. I see one of two scenarios playing out:

1- Bergevin sells off some of the Future to put the habs in a window to win now with Price and Weber. This is the option I see as least likely to play out.

2- Bergevin entices Seattle to take on Price and his contract. This might require MTL trading him to seattle, eating some cap, and getting consideration for seattle to take a random player, but it's the only way I see this working out tbh. I also see this only working if Primeau is close to ready.

Carey Price at a $8M cap hit would be a decent trade piece for Seattle if they could retain I think.

Anyone think Seattle could flip Price? $8M a year isn't bad, and if Seattle eats some salary I could see it working somehow.

Only if Price wants it. He can't be traded unless Price himself decides to waive his NTC.

So theoretically its possible. He could be traded to Seattle, MTL eats cap so his cap hit is only $8M, then Seattle could flip him and retain more. OF course it all depends on if he agrees to it.
