For 3 years, this sounds about right. Rasmus and Tony have two very different playing styles, so it's hard to compare the two. Plus, Tony a) is on pace for 65 points (look at the last few seasons to see which defensemen reached that mark and how much they are being paid) and b) he took this one year deal at a discount (925k), which should help him if and when they go to arbitration. If you are looking to sign Tony for a longer term deal, it would not be shocking if he receives around $6 mil AAV at least, just based on the circumstances.

On another note, Lundkvist is likely not ready for the NHL next season; I would find a cheap alternative in the interim.

The alternative is to play DeAngelo on the right side and have Rykov or Hajek slot in on the other side.
