I’m not so sure Hawks can afford the trade. That’s $7.5M of salary on the books for next year. We don’t know what’s happening with Seabrook or De Haan if either are coming back or what. If neither come back then yes because they’ll have tons of LTIR space but if one or both come back then Hawks don’t need Gardiner nor can they afford the trade.

I think the value is generally there though and I don’t mind the trade.

way too complicated for the Avs but honestly I was just talking about Jost and Haula trade with a buddy.

Wondering more along the lines of Haula and a prospect for Jost. Avs get the 3C, Top 6 LW in Haula that they can use for the playoffs. Canes still get a roster player while they make the playoff push, but cant just sacrifice Jost, being an RFA and his potential still for a pure rental so an additional prospect to balance it all out with my line of thinking.

Not sure how good or the value of Canes prospects are but Jack Drury just pops out to me bc of Uncle Chris Drury and he is still the one that gota way in Colorado avs history

What is the expected return for DeMelo? Is OTT planning to re-sign him? A conditional 3rd with possibility of becoming a 2nd sounds fair + a 7th for taking on a little bit of salary for 6 weeks.
