Leafs do not need another forward trying to learn how to play defence like Dumba. Minnesota should be offloading Dumba to Bergevin in Montreal who needs to do something to save his job.

Fair but when you look past next season you don’t have Barrie come back and you’ve got a d with offensive prow-less and some grit to his game. And then you can go for a guy like hamonic in the offseason

You make some good points and this is a real dilemma for the Leafs to figure out. Your points about Barrie are 100% correct that he might not be back. The only way he comes back is if Leafs do not resign Muzzen. I am favouring the idea of shifting Dermott to the right side as I think he has alot of offensive upside to his game. This is based on the premise that the Leafs resign Muzzen and go with Rielly, Muzzen and Sandin on leftside. That means the right side is composed of Holl and Dermott with one key new addition. I am favouring a hard rock defensive defenceman who plays with an edge.
I am hoping Ceci can get his game together and be that player but realize the Leafs might need to replace him with an upgrade and really thought Manson is the type of right hand defenceman who would pair really well with Rielly. Not sure on Dumba because he really seems to be hyped alot.
