Flames get guys they can use long-term in Dermott and Kerfoot as well as a pick. Dermott is expendable on the Leafs with Sandin now playing regularly, they can use Brodie for the remainder of the year and let him walk, just like Calgary would do with Barrie.

Toffoli for Bracco and the second might be sufficient, but not with trading back from the third round into the fourth by what should be at least 25 places.

Toffoli and our 2020 fourth for two seconds would work.

I don't mind the Flames trade... Any way to substitute Bennett or Hamonic though? I don't like the idea of trading either. You could also just make the trade a bit smaller to allow for it to stay even.

I think taking out the 3rd and 4th round picks is better, Leafs probably wouldn't want to give up another high pick.

Well for Brodie I don't think the Leafs would want to give up anything more than Barrie straight up. I think in the long-term, the Flames will like this trade because they get some certainty for the future with Dermott as opposed to possibly losing Hamonic and Brodie this summer and ending up with nothing. Right now, Brodie and Hamonic are both probably better than him, but the Flames trade off the present a bit for the future.

Honestly I'd be ok with a Brodie for Barrie trade. Why are Leafs fans so willing to give him up? Haven't watched many Leafs games this season.
