Description
From the twitter rumors that were swirling today, it seems like there’s a strong relationship there and multiple potential fits between Colorado and Montreal (no, it’s not Carey Price)

Colorado is after a top six forward, and Tatar would make a good amount of sense. If they wanted to add on the cheap, maybe Lehkonen would be an option. Could they pry Domi away? What about Armia, or possibly trying to reunite Drouin with MacKinnon?
Adrian Dater also reported that the Avalanche could have interest in Jeff Petry. I don’t see where he would fit without Colorado moving a roster D man, but Dater is usually pretty reliable.
For the Canadiens, it would make sense for them to be interested in Ryan Graves or Nikita Zadorov, and Bergevin was at the game in Colorado the other night. Would the also have interest inTyson Jost or Colorado’s prospects in a trade for a bigger piece (Tatar, Domi, etc.) or would draft pick(s) make more sense? I can’t see a trade with Montreal where Colorado would be willing to include Byram.

This is obviously from an Avs fan’s perspective. Habs fans, what do you think? Other Avs fans?

Speaking in general terms, I don't know why the avs would want petry given their defense already. Any trade for tatar, or even any similar-caliber player, I would only feel confortable giving up Jost, Kaut, and/or Bowers plus picks, separately or as a package.

I think Montreal is after a 1st round pick, or an established LD prospect. There would be a lot of interest for Byram or Girard - but that seems unlikely outside of a blockbuster deal.

Also, I've seen a lot of Avs fans float Jost around, but I think Montreal is satisfied with its centre position and prospects. Montreal needs LD and some scoring - so maybe a lower prospect could be of interest, like a Alex Beaucage or Conor Timmins?

I'm not convinced Petry is on the table, but he would definitely be an improvement over Johnson and set up Colorado with a deep defensive core. Drouin played the best hockey of his career earlier this season before his injury and was the best forward for Montreal, so Idk what to make of it and I'm not convinced he's being shopped around. I think anyone else (outside of the rookies + Gallagher and Danault) for Montreal could be traded
