Description
Biggest hole was 1rd.
I think if roslovic plays hard every single night he can be a great 2c as early as this season. That said, you don’t learn that overnight so he has time. I just think it’s too early to give up on him. If foudy drops to our 2nd then draft him but I don’t think we should trade for a 2c just yet. Roslovic has made huge strides this year

God no. Samberg should be better defensively than Severson and Samberg is exactly what we are missing on the back end. A mobile, physical shut down defender. Pair him with Pionk and watch the magic happen.

I’d rather have the first and honestly would rather have heinola as pionk’s partner than Samberg. And that physical shutdown presence we need isn’t coming for another year as Samberg likely won’t make the team. We need it now and severson brings that along with a ton of offence.

Samberg also plays the same game as Chisholm just minus the offensive part. Chisholm also plays more physical. I just think that if we have to wait another year anyway, why not trade Samberg and keep Chisholm.

As much as I would love to see Severson in a Jets jersey, that is too high a price. Samberg/Heinola should be untouchable. Samberg could be a true shut down guy on the left side and they'll need to take advantage of his ELC

When and where do you think Samberg gets a spot. I see the future of the blueline as:
JoMo-severson/whoever we get (we need someone)
Heinola-pionk
Then the 3rd pairing is a combo of niku, Samberg. Chisholm, gawanke. Among those names I think niku should be a lock as he is unlike any player we have ever drafted and have in our system and is the type of player this d-core needs. Then who do you have with him? I would say Chisholm. Imo he has the same shutdown prowess as Samberg and way more offensive upside. That leaves Samberg and gawanke out. Gawanke should be kept since severson or whomever isn’t a sure bet and he has the most potential.

Imo among the jets d prospects, Samberg and Stanley don’t fit into the long term plans.

I could see Samberg making an impact at the tail end of this year. I like Chisholm but Samberg plays in a much tougher league and has proven a better defender to this point. Yes, Chisholm probably has better offensive upside, but defence is what we are lacking. Any devils game I have watched, I wouldn’t say Severson has stood out defensively!
