Well he can play physical, he can score, and he can defend, but most importantly, with retention (which shouldn't be a problem for a rebuilding LA team), he is cheap.

But he's 35 years old and slow, we need younger guys who can skate especially if Thornton comes back

I think its alright for now, the group here is pretty fast, and at only 2 years left, his age isn't a super big deal, Sharks really do much about getting a young top 6 RW right now, hopefully Gambrell, Chmelevski, True, or someone else can manage to fill that role in a few years. Honestly, I don't think Thornton should be brought back.

I think Marleau and Jumbo will return just so that when the TDL comes, they get traded to a contender and sharks get 2 picks out of it
