Statsny would be your 2C, that’s not close to a cap dump. Elvenes was almost at a PPG in the AHL at age 20
I guess I should have looked at who posted this before I made my comment, you are excellent at developing fair trades.
I was not necessarily viewing Stastny as a dump (his production is not commensurate with his $6,500,000 salary) but that his contract only runs for one more year while Montour is still a RFA.
I think Elvenes would be good in the future, I was looking at Glass for Montour straight up, is still too much for Montour?
Just thinking while I am writing, maybe this is a great deal for both teams, Buffalo gets Stastny for one year to let Cozens and Elvenes develop, they get two players on ELC the following year while dropping Stastny's salary giving them room to sign Dahlin.
I am sure this is what you had in mind when you posted this.
Edit: I am stealing this trade and posting it, I will link your URL.

Tbh I wasn't even sure what was Montour's value. Some people are saying he can't defend and only scores and now there's you, saying Cody Glass (future top6 C) needs to be in the return. No way.
And yeah, Elvenes was good in the AHL, he's legit and will probably be better than what BUF currently have.
I got to watch Montour for most of this year and the 20 games he was with Buffalo last year. He has been their best defenseman during that time frame. He scored more points and had the best +/- his first year and the best +/- among all players this past year.
I would hate to see him traded away, and would only do it if the offer was remarkable.
I believe Botterill thought he had a deal with Brisebois in the 2019 TDL to move Ristolainen when he picked up Montour, but what do I know.
I think if Elvenes is better than Cozens, this would be a great trade for Buffalo.
Lastly, thank you both for your comments. I love chatting with knowledgeable hockey fans, let's make a deal.
