Considering essentially AHL=Liiga (.4-.45) and they are both skilled enough to play at a higher level I think this seems fine given JP is older.

The value is fair. They have the exact same PPG in the AHL level. But I don’t think the Sabres will trade him
They have no center depth. And there is a strong possibility he’s going to be the 2nd line center next year, if Botterill can’t find a 2nd line center.

I think with Dylan Cozens comin in soon he’ll try to find some value for mittelstadt, I could be wrong though, also Pulju would be nasty with Skinner and Eichel

I agree. Given the importance of the position I think Buffalo keeps CM. Centers are more valuable imo. To be clear as far as value goes it’s fair but buffalo really needs center depth

Buffalo would pass. Mittelstadt is still slightly more valuable and has been slightly more productive at the NHL level. He’s also a year younger and plays center. It’s a no brained to pass on this but I get the concept of the deal
