I keep thinking this is an interesting start to an idea, but then second guess myself and think it's bad. I’m not really sure anymore.

Idea is if Toronto can trade someone like Johnsson too, it’d open up enough cap to sign Pietrangelo.

very intriguing TOR trade

Of course it all depends on if Kaprizov pans out.

BUT, Zuc's deal being what it is and the pick being late, I think TOR refuses.

Remove Kerfoot at least

Overall good idea, just thought I'd leave some thoughts here

I think the snag would be taking back Zuc's contract. If the leafs wanna deal Marner they should ship him off to a team with the cap space or take on a shorter contract

Zuccarello could probably be a decent third liner for Toronto, maybe jump to second line if needed, but yeah, if his contract was only 2 more years instead of 4 and the Wild would retain a bit, I think it'd be a much better trade. That way he'd be off the books when Kaprizov, Kapanen, Reilly, and Sandin would need to get paid.

I'd love Marner but if we move Kaprizov my opinion has always been that it has to be for a stud center like Eichel or Barkov (obviously we'd add more).

This is my opinion...take it for what it’s worth...

I wouldn’t trade just Ek and Kaprizov for Marner. I think Ek is on the verge of becoming a very, very good 2nd line center and Kaprizov might end up just as good as Marner...plus, both Wild players (and their games) are much better suited for playoff hockey. No deal for me.

Brodin is a much better player than Strome is. For this deal to make sense to the Wild, i would need it to look more like this: Brodin and the Pittsburgh 1st for Strome and and Chicago’s 2020 1st.

You get very high grades for coming up with a creative way to move Zuccarello though! IMO, all off season ideas/plans for the Wild should start with moving him.
