Description
Trade Maatta or Smith if we can find takers
Maatta has value, especially with some retention
Let's be honest, Shaw is done
Plenty of extra cap space to negotiate with

Lines are as balanced as I could make them
3 scoring lines (Toews&Kubs, Kane&Friends, ErieGang)

Mitchell is a STUD!
If Seabs is healthy... Still probably sitting press box
Who knows? Maybe RoboSeabs will regain 2015 shape
4K and Carlsson fight for the 6th man spot
Kalynuk might see some games too

Delia is the backup unless Lankinen, Nalimov or Subban win the job at camp

Let me know what I missed or goofed

EDIT:
Moved Smith from Buyout to the AHL
Re-Signed Caggs for less

I personally would not sign Drake to that deal. He's a fine player, but thats too much in the cap constrained situation. If we're looking for another high energy guy...Hagel could fit. if were looking for higher end talent...id like to see kurashev get a shot.

Also...again...just an opinion, but I'd burry Zach Smith vs buy him out. That can really help next year's cap and help teach the kids in Rockford how to be professionals. Heck even if an injury happens he can still be called up.

I like the idea of what you did, but DeBrincat needs more TOI than a third liner but that is nitpicking.

I agree with this 100%, even Drake has said he doesn't know what his position is after this year likely due to how deep the team will be at training camp with 3-5 prospects becoming NHL level guys. Plus if we need a depth guy we need them to be a right shot RW since we have none outside of Carpenter and Entwistle if he makes the team.

Also as important as it is for young guys to learn from Kane, Toews, and Keith how to win in playoffs its just as important to learn from vets like Smith and Carpenter who have grinded their whole careers just to be in the NHL.
