Description
If they do settle on the 28 expanded roster, 18 fwds and 10 dmen make the most sense for the split

Its going to be a real interesting conversation on how they fill out the the last few spots for the forwards. Its an easy 15 locked in forwards and it comes down to who do they carry for the last 3 spots

Regardless of that small decision. The depth of this current group should be there for a deep playoff run

If it's 28 skaters and however many goalies you want I think they'll go with the players you have, but I think the roster order is a bit different to what you have:

Landeskog --- Mackinnon ---- Rantanen
Burakovsky ---- Kadri ---------- Donskoi
Nichuskin ----- Compher ----- Namestnikov
Nieto ---------- Bellemare ----- Calvert

+ Jost, Wilson, Kamenev, Kaut, O'Connor, Bowers

Graves --- Makar
Girard ---- Johnson
Zadorov -- Cole

+ Barberio, Timmins, Connauton, Byram

Grubauer
Francouz
Hutchinson
Werner

Byram and Bowers won't get to play (so as to not burn an ELC year) but they'll still get to practice and be around the team. Bringing an extra goalie in Werner makes sense, as you don't know when you might have an injury crisis. Also in practice it might also be useful to have a couple of extra goalies for drills.

Tynan, MacDonald, or Lindholm may also be considered, but I doubt they make it ahead of the other names.

I think Byram plays through....if they add him they are going all in and hes going to be 7th man swapping in and out for Zads who we know will eventually make Bednar upset haha

Take it for what it's worth (not much), but Adrian Dater posted last week that Byram won't play this postseason even if he's included in the expanded roster.

I don't foresee Zadorov being dropped in the playoffs, but if we were to suffer injuries it wouldn't surprise me if Timmins was the first option instead of Barberio.

Its an educated guess that Byram wont play but I dont take any stock in Dater, he is unhinged and just a glorified troll looking for click bait in this point of his career
I just do remember that the DNVR guys were saying that before the pandemic that they were hearing that Sakic and crew were looking at brining in Byram like they did with Makar for a playoff debut. Now things could have changed bc of the stoppage but if they were already thinking that, those wheels are in motion internally and would be tempting

I don't see it. Benching Zadorov in the playoffs would tank his trade value, and any gains by playing Byram (and buring 1 year of his ELC) would be marginal at best. Keep in mind that Byram is only a 19 year old kid, which is much younger than Makar was last year. Makar had TWO years in college after his draft year before he got to play in the playoffs, compared to Byram who has just had 1 year in the WHL after the draft. Playing Byram now would be akin to playing Makar after his first college season, and so I don't think he's ready for that quite yet.
