We would all love this in MTL... but CBJ would match even if they will be in cap hell... they will clean out: Foligno, Dubs or Savard for low return instead of letting him go...

This isn't enough for CLB to not match. The only way a team has no choice but to let the player walk is when the compensation actually entices them. Four 1st rounders and NOT having to pay a player a huge amount of money is enough to make most teams think about it. Under that though, I doubt it. They can simply make a few trades to dump some salary and they'll be able to keep the player and offset some of the overpaying they might have to do to keep the player.
