I think the Merrill signing is a good one. Nice target. Don't love the idea of bringing back Fast, Gauthier would do really well in that spot and he shouldn't be on the 4th line behind a player like Fast. Kravtsov will probably be up on the 3rd line as well, seems too crowded for Fast and that money should be used to sign someone like Larsson to play 3C since Howden really can't play C. Also there's no universe that Fox should ever be on the 3rd pair. And that looks like appropriate value for Hank. Not too shabby.

I can't imagine the Rangers wanting to retain that much on Lundqvist for a year, but the value isn't bad. Probably wouldn't mind that from an SJS perspective.

In hindsight a 2nd is a lot to give up for him considering the circumstances. I definitely think there are better options out there for us goalie wise, but I personally wouldn't be too opposed to this if NYR retained 50% of his salary and he cost us a late 3rd/4th. I dunno maybe I'm an idiot.

Not an idiot... just nostalgic. I’m more pragmatic and I see an old goalie who had a bad year and most likely will have a worse year than our in-house overpaid goalie And I see a bad goal situation similar to the last 2 years except it costs us 2.25 million more. And a 2nd
