Description
Better get used to it now because this is how things will probably look.

Even if they lose in the play-in round the odds are 87.5% that they they DON'T get that pick.

I keep reverting to this Deslaurier trade because I think that Johnsson will be moved. (That could just as easily be a similar player or draft pick). Regardless... I do believe there will be a cap compliance move of some kind.

Deslauries is the exact type of player that the Leafs need. Not to mention he’s the best fighter in the league.

Also, Spezza will probably cost a bit more.

Leafs sorted out the back up goalie problem.
RHD has to be priority. I expect either not much changes or a Nylander is moved. My problem is I don’t see many teams looking to move fair value to get him. Top 2 D rarely top 2-3 D get traded. Could be wrong. Kapanen always is the fall to plan which is hard to get a top 4 RHD anyways.

Spezza isn't in it for the money any more. He is from Toronto and lives in Toronto with his family.

I'd rather just play Barabanov and ask for an additional pick/prospect in that trade but I guess this is alright.

yeah thats true, only other guy I would see Dubas potentially bringing back is Matt Martin. He was buddies with the majority of the team. Anybody who went after matthews or marner would have to deal with him. And when he was with the leafs he had the most hits in a season. 2 year 1 mill a year deal could work. As for Spezza he said he wants to come back and I could see Dubas giving him an Ennis deal.

Deslauriers over Martin any day of the week for me!

Younger, can play a regular shift of the 4th line on either wing, better cap hit, two year term, awesome energy guy.
