Whatup Rob Blake? But for real they've got Doughty and Walker for the foreseeable future, I think they'd be fine parting with Roy for a younger comparable player.

They need 3 RHD. They have 3 RHD. If they trade Roy for Dermott, they have now moved their roster gap from the ride side to the left side, and as Toronto fans have learned, it's much harder to fill a RHD spot.

Additionally, Dermott is not the type of LHD the Kings are looking for. They want a veteran LHD with experience that can mentor the young kids in the lineup, while playing solid defensive minutes next to Doughty. Some one like Hjalmarsson, Leddy, or Staal fills this gap, and wouldn't require the Kings to give up Roy to acquire. 23 year old Dermott is not the solution.

Kings say no.
